Tours & Routes
Two ways to experience Armenia by bike — race it or ride it.
Choose Your Adventure
Ascend Armenia offers two distinct ways to explore the highlands. Whether you’re a competitive racer or a curious adventurer, there’s a route built for you.
The Race Route
Self-Supported · ~1,111 km
The full Ascend Armenia race traverses the entire length of the country on gravel tracks, mountain passes, and ancient roads. Riders must be entirely self-sufficient — no support crews, no resupply beyond what you can carry or find.
- ~1,111 km point-to-point
- Fully self-supported bikepacking
- Unlimited time window to finish
- GPS tracking for all participants
The Touring Route
Self-Supported · Flexible Distance
A simplified, more accessible version of the full route. The touring track lets you experience Armenia’s best landscapes at your own pace, without the racing dynamic. Perfect for riders who want to explore but aren’t ready for the full race commitment.
- Shorter, more manageable distance
- No registration required to ride
- Follow at your own pace
- Same incredible landscapes
What to Expect on the Route
High Mountain Passes
The route crosses some of Armenia’s most dramatic passes, reaching elevations above 3,000m. Expect everything from smooth tarmac to rocky doubletrack.
Ancient Roads & Villages
Gravel tracks wind through centuries-old villages and past medieval monasteries. You’ll ride roads that few outsiders have ever seen.
Varied Terrain
From the lush green valleys of the north to the volcanic highlands of the south, the route covers the full spectrum of what Armenia has to offer.
